Charms of Golden Triangle in India – Delhi Jaipur Agra
Exploring
Delhi
After
stepping off the plane on the first day of your India golden triangle
tour, your visit begins in Delhi, India's bustling multicultural
capital. Delhi is a city rich in history and monuments, among which the Red
Fort, the Humayun Tombs, the Qutb Minar, and the India Gate stand out. But
Delhi is not only a historical but also religious capital, including the Jama
Masjid, the largest mosque in India, the Hindu sanctuary of Nizam-ud-din's
Shrine, the Ikson Temple, and the Sikh temple Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. But Delhi
is also the liveliness of its markets, including Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi or
Khan market.
Exploring
Jaipur
After Delhi, the golden triangle journey in India continues with heading towards Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, the land of the Maharajas, of Rajput warriors, of colourful saris and gaudy turbans. Like Delhi, Jaipur is also chaotic, albeit to a lesser extent. Also known as the “ pink city,” so renamed due to the characteristic colour of its buildings in the old quarter. The iconic monument is the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Wind), which is known for its facade.
The facade is a giant honeycomb-like window designed to allow the royal women who live inside to peer in invisibly. Besides the Hawa Mahal, the city shines with the City Palace and the Jantar Mahal Observatory. Jaipur is also surrounded by magnificent forts, such as Amber Fort, one of the most famous and appreciated. Of lesser importance are Nahargarh Fort and Jaigarh Fort.
The most
important religious places are Birla Temple and Galta Ji Monkey Temple.
Visiting the many markets and bazaars on both sides of the old city is a
must-do in Jaipur. The most common items are spices, fabrics, clothing, and
jewelry. And always remember to negotiate.
Discovering
Agra
After
exploring Jaipur and visiting the Pink City and its surroundings, the Golden
Triangle tour continues to Agra in Uttar Pradesh. However, stopping at least twice each at Abhaneri and Fepur Sikri en route is recommended.
Abhaneri
is famous for its unique Chand Baori step well. As a unique example of
architecture, the site was designed not only as a storehouse, a religious place
for ablution but also as a place for gathering and conversation, especially in
the hot season.
After
leaving Abhaneri, continue to Agra, making sure to stop at Fatehpur Sikri
(probably known as the "Ghost City"), 35-40 kilometers outside the
city. Built by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar, it was the capital for only 15
years and was soon abandoned, hence the name 'Ghost City.' The site, as well as
housing numerous palaces and courts, also houses a large Jama Masjid mosque, an
imposing Buland Darwaza gateway, and the mausoleum of Salim Chishti.
At the end
of the visit, you will arrive in Agra just for those who wish to visit the Taj
Mahal at sunset, a symbol of Agra and India. The visit to the Taj Mahal
mausoleum at sunset, with the reflections of light on the white marble, is very
beautiful, even if the best time is dawn also because it is still not very
crowded.
But Agra
is not only The Taj Mahal; there is also the Agra Fort, the view of the river
Yamuna, the tomb of Akbar, and the exquisite tomb of Mirza Itimad-ud-Daulah.
At the end of the visit to Agra, the Delhi agra jaipur tour 4 days concludes, returning to Delhi. From here, you can decide whether to continue to another destination in India or return to your original location. A trip to India in the Golden Triangle is not only a short itinerary to visit three of India's most beautiful and unique cities but also a way to get closer to the world of Indian culture.
Living in India and knowing India also means immersing yourself in the smells and tastes of this country. During this tour, you will feel and discover the scents of spices, incense, and tropical fruits. Savor the taste of the dishes, the spices, masalas, and curries, enjoy chai (a typical Indian spiced milk tea), and drink lassi...these are all simple activities that will enrich your trip and leave you with a lasting memory.
